Our Order Process

At Komak Studios, we believe exceptional art begins long before the first brushstroke. Every commission is the result of a thoughtful dialogue between artist, architect, interior designer, and client - creating work that feels inherently connected to the space it inhabits.

The most important stage of our process is listening.

We invest time in understanding you, your project, and the creative intent. Rather than creating art as a standalone feature, we design works that exist in harmony with their architectural surroundings, considering: scale, materiality, colour, light, proportion, and atmosphere. The finished piece should feel as though it has always belonged within the space, bringing balance, depth, and emotion.

01 — Discovery Consultation

We begin by understanding your project, vision, and the role the artwork will play within the space. We review drawings, renders, mood boards, materials, dimensions, timelines, and installation requirements.

02 — Creative Direction

Together, we establish the artistic direction — considering the desired mood, colour, texture, scale, materiality, and relationship between the artwork and its surroundings.

03 — Concept Development

Our studio translates the project's vision into an original artwork concept. Through composition, colour, texture, and material exploration, we develop a bespoke piece created specifically for your space.

04 — Presentation & Refinement

We present the proposed concept for review and collaboration. Your feedback is incorporated through refinement until the artwork feels fully aligned with the project and its intended environment.

05 — Artwork Creation

Once the concept is approved, we begin crafting the final artwork. Every detail is thoughtfully executed to create a piece that feels inherently connected to the architecture — considered, enduring, and uniquely its own.

01. Discovery Consultation

Every project begins with a 30min discovery consultation, where we take the time to understand the project, its vision, and the role the artwork will play within the space. We review architectural drawings, renders, mood boards, material palettes, and project imagery to develop a clear understanding of the environment. We also establish practical considerations including dimensions, orientation, materials, timelines, installation requirements, and investment, ensuring the artwork is considered within both the creative and practical framework of the project.

02. Creative Direction

With the project understood, we begin establishing the creative direction for the artwork. Working collaboratively with the architect, interior designer, and client, we explore the desired mood, atmosphere, colour, texture, scale, materiality, and visual language of the piece. Every decision is considered in relation to the surrounding architecture and interior, allowing us to develop an artistic direction that complements the broader design rather than competing with it. The result is a cohesive vision that connects the artwork to the character and intention of the space.

03. Concept Development

With the creative direction established, our studio begins translating the project's vision into an original artwork concept. Through the exploration of composition, colour relationships, texture, materials, and form, we develop a bespoke piece specifically in response to the space. Each element is thoughtfully considered to create balance, depth, and visual harmony, while ensuring the artwork carries its own sense of identity. This stage transforms the project's architectural and creative language into an artistic expression designed exclusively for its environment.

04. Presentation & Refinement

Once the concept has been developed, we present the proposed artwork direction for review and collaboration. We walk through the creative rationale behind the piece, discussing how the composition, materials, colour, scale, and overall aesthetic respond to the project. Feedback from the client and design team is carefully considered and incorporated where required, allowing the artwork to evolve until every detail feels resolved. Only once the concept is fully aligned with the project's vision do we proceed to production.

.

05. Artwork Creation

With the concept approved, the final artwork moves into production. Each piece is carefully handcrafted in our studio, with every detail executed in response to the agreed creative direction and the unique requirements of the space. From the application of material and texture to the balance of colour, form, and composition, the artwork is created with the same level of consideration as the architecture it accompanies. The result is a bespoke work that feels inherently connected to its surroundings - considered, and uniquely created for the space.
